Scenes From a Lost Family Album

2022 - ongoing
Scenes From a Lost Family Album explores memory, loss, and the fragile permanence of family history. Inspired by the disappearance of my own family albums, the work evokes nostalgia for a past that can no longer be fully retrieved.
The series consists of embroidered photographs, where each stitch becomes a bridge between past and present. By layering thread onto images of vanished family moments, absence is transformed into presence, and memory into material form.
The work invites reflection on the universal desire to preserve family bonds, while acknowledging the distance and estrangement that accompany what is forgotten or lost.
